About Cochinos Grande Island
The Cayos Cochinos, Cochinos Cays or sometimes referred to as the Hog Islands are a group of two small islands. The two islands are Cochinos Pequeno (Cayo Minor) and Chochinos Grande (Cayo Mayor) and it consists of thirteen small coral cays situated 30 kilometers northeast of La Ceiba on the northern shores of Honduras.
The Plantation Beach Resort, located on Cayo Mayor, is the only diving and snorkeling spot on the island. This spectacular area has been awarded the status of Marine Protected Area and Marine Natural Monument making sure that future divers will greatly enjoy these pristine underwater worlds. The diving sites are extremely colorful with Pelican Point Wall and the Airplane Wreck being the most popular.
